AMSOIL Metal Protector out performs the competition. When compared to products like WD-40, if you look at a surface treated with WD-40 it leaves a 'fuzzy-sticky' surface that attracts dust and dirt and leaves a dirty mess. AMSOIL Metal Protector leaves a 'slick' surface that does not attract dirt to remain a far superior lubricant.
AMSOIL Metal Protector is an excellent water-displacing lubricant. If you take a flat metal surface and have water collected on it, spray it with AMSOIL Metal Protector - the Metal Protector will penetrate the standing water, coat the surface and displace the water.
It is a thin film lubricant. Depending on the application retreat as required.
When lubricating dissimilar materials such as vinyl or rubber contacting metal, also consider AMSOIL Silicone Spray lubricant.
In a food service application, do not use AMSOIL Metal Protector. Instead use AMSOIL Silicone Spray that carries the USDA H-1 'safe for incidental contact with food' rating.
For Heavy Duty thick film spray applications consider AMSOIL Heavy Duty Metal Protector.
